Board of Directors

GIPL has an active Board of Directors and three action committees - fundraising, outreach, and program. Scroll down to see our Core Values and Former Board Members.

Reneé Kastanakis, Chair of the Board - Renee is an attorney, who practiced for 20 years with the litigation law firm of Carr, Tabb & Pope. She currently works part-time as legal counsel for PS Energy Group, Inc. She is a lifelong Episcopalian, who is currently a member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church. 

Noah Levine, Vice-Chair of the Board - Noah works for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and is a member of Congregation Etz Chaim.

Marti Breen, Secretary - Marti is a principal with C3 Marketing, Inc. As a congregant of All Saints' Episcopal, Atlanta, she became interested in the potential for the faith community to help its members realize the connection between spirituality and care for creation.

* Walt Bryde, Treasurer - Walt is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Atlanta and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Rev. Woody Bartlett, Co-founder - Woody is a retired Episcopal priest in the Atlanta Diocese. He is the author of Living By Surprise: A Christian Response to the Ecological Crisis.

Beth Bond - Beth is the Managing Partner at Southeast Green and a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur.

*Dr. Mark Douglas - Mark is the Associate Professor of Christian Ethics at Columbia Theological Seminary. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

Garry Harris - Garry is the CEO of HTS Enterprises and an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Leslie Lyons Watkins - is the Director of both the Single Adult and Creation Care Ministries and also a member of the Pastoral Care Team at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.

Core Values

These are the Core Values developed by the Board of Directors in September 2010. These values are the guiding principles of the work of Georgia Interfaith Power & Light.

Former Board Members

Carol Bartlett, Co-founder and Former Secretary - Carol is an educational consultant. She currently teaches at Shorter College and does consultations with schools and nonprofit groups. She is a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Dan May, Former Treasurer - Dan is a former college biology teacher and a retired epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He is a member of the Atlanta Friends Meeting.

Carol and Dan both remain active on GIPL's Education Committee and continue to teach our Home Energy Audit Training Classes.
