History
Misión Verde was
created by Earth Covenant Ministry as an outreach program to Latino
youth. In July 2011 a vibrant group of youth and five fearless leaders
spent the week exploring faith in God's good creation right here in
Georgia as part of Misión Verde. Generous donations of time and money
were shared so that these youth could have an eco-adventure from the
headwaters of the Chattahoochee in North Georgia on down to the flowing
Flint River in Hampton, Georgia. While enjoying the refreshing waters,
they learned about being good stewards of this precious resource in our
midst and responding to the call of environmental justice.
As one youth was overheard saying at the close of the
excursion: "I came to learn about God and was not
disappointed!"
