6th Annual Interfaith Tree Planting
January 21 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join friends of faith from across the region in a day of service to celebrate the Jewish New Year of the Trees — Tu B’Shvat — and to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., which fall on the same day this year. This has become a favorite tradition for GIPL friends, and we’re thrilled to be in our 6th year of the Interfaith Tree Planting! In partnership with Trees Atlanta, GIPL volunteers will plant trees and nurture green spaces. This year we have two locations you can choose from: Grove Park and Brook Run Park.
Trees Atlanta provides the trees, tools, and expertise; we spread tree roots into fertile ground, giving trees a place to flourish. Dress for the weather, bring work gloves if you have them and a water bottle. We’ll provide training, tools and snacks to keep you fueled. We also encourage you to watch this video prior to the tree planting: How to Plant a Tree.
All ages and abilities welcomed!
