Green Team Summit 2019
January 27, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm
GIPL’s Second Annual Green Team Summit will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019. All Creation Care champions and environmental stewards from congregations across the state are invited to join us for this interfaith celebration featuring an inspiring keynote address by the Ray C. Anderson Foundation’s Executive Director: John Lanier, educational workshops, and a farm-to-table dinner.
John A. Lanier joined the Ray C. Anderson Foundation as Executive Director in May 2013. Lanier’s passion for environmental stewardship was sparked by Ray’s example and story, and he never tires of sharing this story with others. Lanier currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Southface, the southeast’s nonprofit leader in the promotion of sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through education, research, advocacy and technical assistance. He also serves as Chair of Board of Directors for Project Drawdown, a nonprofit working to map, measure and model the world’s most substantive solutions for reversing global warming. Lanier was a member of the 2014 class of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership (IGEL).
This will be a great opportunity to network with other people of faith committed to our shared work of caring for the Earth. You’ll walk away with best practices for engaging your congregation back home too!
