April 28 @ 9:30 am - June 2 @ 10:15 am

Sponsored by the St. Thomas Creation Keepers, the congregation welcomes leaders from Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (GIPL) to lead this series on Creation Care.

St. Thomas Episcopal Church – Columbus recently received a GIPL Energy Efficiency Grant through the Power Wise program to upgrade to more energy efficient lighting in the church and Day School. For five weeks starting in April, St. Thomas will explore topics such as our responsibility to the Earth, what we can do now, and where to situate Creation care in the Bible.  A list of topics follows:

Environmental Crisis?”

Introducing the problems of anthropocentrism and dualism in the Christian tradition

May 5: “The Beginning and End of the World: Reading the New Testament Through the Lens of Creation.”
by Dr. Stan Saunders, Associate Professor of New Testament, Columbia Theological Seminary
Focusing on Revelation 21-22, Romans 8, and Colossians 1

May 12: TBD

May 19: “Earth’s Story in the Old Testament.”

June 2: “Where do we go from here?”
by Codi Norred, GIPL Program Director

Classes are free and open to the public.  Each gathering will take place in the library on the Sundays listed above from 9:30 – 10:15am.
