Sacred Activism Workshop
June 1 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Are you seeking hope and inspiration in Creation? Are you ready to work through what can often feel like a hopeless situation for the environment? On Saturday, June 1, GIPL partner, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Gwinnett (UUCG) will host a Sacred Activism workshop. Taught by GIPL Board member, Beth Remmes, this workshop is based on the work of Joanna Macy. Sacred Activism is an interactive workshop which addresses the environmental and cultural problems that we are currently facing. It is based on over four decades of community-based work with thousands of people around the world and designed to help you transform fear and despair into inspiration and a sense of empowerment.
This is a fundraising event, and a $10 donation is requested at the door. (Although, all are welcome, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.)
Funded by the Four Directions Fund, Sacred Activism also provides grants for environmental projects which are conceived by attendees during these workshops. Attending a Sacred Activism Workshop makes one eligible to fill out a brief application to be considered for this seed money of up to $300.
