World Water Day: Watch Trinity Institute 2017
March 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm UTC-5
Join GIPL in Decatur for a celebration of World Water Day, as we stream Trinity Institute 2017: Water Justice‘s keynote address and engage in discussion around water, justice, and faith. Access to clean water is an essential human right, yet such access is increasingly compromised by droughts, pollution, rising tides, and flooding. These effects of climate change are most tangibly felt by the very people the Gospel urges us to look to—the marginalized and the vulnerable.
This conference, an annual theological conference held in NYC, is infused with spiritual principles and common prayer along with science and solutions, allows us to deeply examine what connects us, and empowers us to take unified, faith-based action on the front lines of the water justice movement. 2017’s keynote speaker is Barbara Boxer, a national leader on environmental protection who gave 10 years of service in the House and became a US Senator in 1993.
7:00 PM: Streaming of Barbara Boxer’s Keynote Address
8:00 PM: Presentation and Discussion with Dr. Rob McDowell, GSU Professor of Geology and Environmental Science, and Rev. Kate McGregor Mosley, GIPL Executive Director
