Energy Efficiency Matching Grants

GIPL awards grants to help congregations fund their energy efficiency projects. Since 2007, over $900,000 has been awarded to 150 congregations across Georgia, minimizing their carbon pollution and maximizing their energy efficiency.

Grant applications are due every year by November 15 and are to be submitted directly to GIPL.

To be eligible for a grant, a congregation must:

  • Enroll in GIPL’s Power Wise Program. Any congregation or religious organization, including schools, that has received a Power Wise Energy Audit is eligible to apply.
  • Submit an application for up to $10,000 in Matching Grants to implement the Energy Conservation Measures suggested in your Energy Audit Report.

*Please note, audits completed in 2012 or earlier need to be redone in order to apply for a GIPL matching grant.
